8133. 'They are enmeshed in the land' means that they are in a state of confusion so far as things of the Church are concerned. This is clear from the meaning of 'being enmeshed' as being entangled in, thus as being in a state of confusion, dealt with in 2831; and from the meaning of 'the land' as things of the Church.
