There are some in excrementitious hells who have been given to variety, and by this have extinguished the conjugial, and are at the same time voluptuaries; these are in the province of the intestines, underneath them, where there are lavatories everywhere and a foul smell; and everywhere there are caverns from which this smell escapes.

'The land of Jordan,' as in Psalm 42:6, signifies what is lowly and consequently what is distant from the celestial.
