That this signifies that thus there was no continuation, is evident from the signification of “giving seed to one’s brother,” or performing the duty of a husband’s brother, as being to continue that which is of the church, of which above (n. 4834); and therefore by “not giving seed to his brother,” is signified that the there was no continuation.
