And the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
Son that is a stranger
'The son of a stranger,' as in Genesis 17:12, signifies people born out of the church, and so not principled in the goods and truths of faith, because they do not have knowledge of them. They also signify people in external worship, as in Isaiah 61:5.
