13 ต่อมาเมื่อโยชูวาอยู่ข้างเมืองเยรีโค ท่านก็เงยหน้าขึ้นมองดู และดูเถิด มีชายคนหนึ่งชักดาบออกมาถือยืนอยู่ตรงหน้าท่าน โยชูวาเข้าไปหาชายนั้น กล่าวแก่เขาว่า "ท่านอยู่ฝ่ายเราหรืออยู่ฝ่ายศัตรู"
