Chedorlaomer

In Genesis 14:5, Chedorlaomer signifies apparent good in the external man. (Arcana Coelestia 1671)

In Genesis 14:6, this signifies the Lord's human essence relating to good and truth which He used to destroy persuasions of falsity. (Arcana Coelestia 1675[2])

In Genesis 14:9, Chedorlaomer here signifies the truth in the Lord because it is mentioned in a different order. (Arcana Coelestia 1685)

Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, signifies truths; and Tidal, king of Goiim, goods.

1669. Verse 5 And in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings who were with him, and smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim. 'In the fourteenth year' means the first temptation. 'Chedorlaomer came' means apparent good in the External Man. 'And the kings who were with him' means the apparent truth that goes with that good. 'And smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim' means false persuasions or the hells of such persuasions which the Lord overcame.
