²² อย่าให้ปุโรหิตแต่งงานกับหญิงม่ายหรือหญิงที่ถูกหย่าแล้ว แต่ให้แต่งงานกับหญิงพรหมจารีจากเชื้อสายแห่งวงศ์วานอิสราเอล หรือหญิงม่ายซึ่งเป็นหญิงม่ายของปุโรหิต

¹ เมื่อโยชูวาชราลงมีอายุมากแล้ว พระเยโฮวาห์ก็ตรัสกับท่านว่า "เจ้าชราลงมีอายุมากแล้ว แต่แผ่นดินที่จะต้องยึดครองนั้นยังมีอีกมาก

² ต่อไปนี้เป็นแผ่นดินที่ยังเหลืออยู่ คือ ท้องถิ่นฟีลิสเตียทั้งหมด และท้องถิ่นของคนเกชูร์ทั้งหมด

³ ตั้งแต่ชิโหร์ซึ่งอยู่หน้าอียิปต์ เหนือขึ้นไปถึงเขตแดนเอโครน นับกันว่าเป็นของคนคานาอัน ผู้ครอบครองฟีลิสเตียมีอยู่ห้าคนด้วยกัน คือ ผู้ครอบครองเมืองกาซา เมืองอัชโดด เมืองอัชเคโลน เมืองกัท และเมืองเอโครน และเมืองของคนอิฟวาห์ด้วย

⁴ ซึ่งอยู่ทิศใต้คือแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นของคนคานาอัน และเขตเมอาราห์ ซึ่งเป็นของชาวไซดอนถึงเมืองอาเฟก ถึงเขตแดนของคนอาโมไรต์

⁵ และแผ่นดินของชาวเกบาลและเลบานอนทั้งหมด ไปทางที่ดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้น จากบาอัลกาดที่อยู่เชิงภูเขาเฮอร์โมน ถึงทางเข้าเมืองฮามัท

⁶ ชาวแดนเทือกเขาทั้งหมดจากเลบานอนจนถึงมิสเรโฟทมาอิม และคนไซดอนทั้งหมด เราจะขับไล่เขาทั้งหลายออกไปให้พ้นหน้าคนอิสราเอลเอง เพียงแต่เจ้าจงจับสลากแบ่งดินแดนเหล่านั้นให้เป็นมรดกแก่อิสราเอล ดังที่เราบัญชาเจ้าไว้

⁷ บัดนี้จงแบ่งแผ่นดินนี้ออกให้เป็นมรดกแก่คนเก้าตระกูลรวมกับคนมนัสเสห์ครึ่งตระกูลด้วย"

⁸ ส่วนมนัสเสห์อีกครึ่งตระกูล คนรูเบน และคนกาดได้รับส่วนมรดกของเขา ซึ่งโมเสสได้มอบให้ทางฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้นด้านตะวันออก ส่วนที่โมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระเยโฮวาห์มอบให้เขาคือ

⁹ ตั้งแต่อาโรเออร์ ซึ่งอยู่ริมลุ่มแม่น้ำอารโนน และเมืองที่อยู่กลางลุ่มแม่น้ำนี้ และที่ราบเมเดบาตลอดจนถึงดีโบน

¹⁰ และหัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นของสิโหนกษัตริย์คนอาโมไรต์ ผู้ซึ่งครอบครองอยู่ในเฮชโบน ไกลออกไปจนถึงเขตแดนคนอัมโมน

¹¹ กับเขตกิเลอาดและท้องถิ่นของคนเกชูร์และคนมาอาคาห์ และภูเขาเฮอร์โมนทั้งหมด และเมืองบาชานทั้งสิ้นจนถึงเมืองสาเลคาห์

¹² ตลอดราชอาณาจักรของโอกในบาชาน ผู้ครอบครองอยู่ในอัชทาโรทและในเอเดรอี ท่านเป็นพวกมนุษย์ยักษ์ที่เหลืออยู่ เมืองเหล่านี้โมเสสรบชนะ และได้ขับไล่ให้ออกไป

¹³ แต่คนอิสราเอลยังหาได้ขับไล่คนเกชูร์หรือคนมาอาคาห์ให้ออกไปไม่ แต่คนเกชูร์กับคนมาอาคาห์ยังอาศัยอยู่ในหมู่คนอิสราเอลจนทุกวันนี้

¹⁴ เฉพาะตระกูลเลวีตระกูลเดียวโมเสสหาได้มอบมรดกให้ไม่ ของบูชาด้วยไฟที่ถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลเป็นมรดกของเขา ดังที่พระองค์ตรัสไว้แก่เขาแล้ว

¹⁵ และโมเสสได้มอบส่วนมรดกให้แก่ตระกูลคนรูเบนตามครอบครัวของเขา

¹⁶ ดังนั้นเขตแดนของเขาจึงตั้งแต่อาโรเออร์ซึ่งอยู่ริมลุ่มแม่น้ำอารโนนและเมืองซึ่งอยู่กลางลุ่มแม่น้ำนั้นและที่ราบเมืองเมเดบาทั้งสิ้น

¹⁷ ทั้งเมืองเฮชโบน รวมกับหัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นซึ่งอยู่บนที่ราบนั้น คือดีโบน และบาโมทบาอัล และเบธบาอัลเมโอน

¹⁸ กับยาฮาส และเคเดโมท และเมฟาอาท

²¹ คือหัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นซึ่งอยู่บนที่ราบ และทั้งราชอาณาจักรทั้งหมดของสิโหนกษัตริย์คนอาโมไรต์ผู้ครอบครองอยู่ในเฮชโบน ซึ่งโมเสสได้กระทำให้พ่ายแพ้พร้อมกับเจ้านายของมีเดียน คือ เอวี เรเคม ศูร์ และเฮอร์ กับเรบา เป็นเจ้านายซึ่งขึ้นแก่กษัตริย์สิโหนผู้พำนักอยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น

²² อนึ่งคนอิสราเอลได้ฆ่าบาลาอัมบุตรชายเบโอร์ผู้เป็นคนทำนายเสียด้วยดาบพร้อมกับคนอื่นที่เขาได้ฆ่านั้น

²³ อาณาเขตของคนรูเบนคือแม่น้ำจอร์แดนเป็นพรมแดน นี่เป็นมรดกของคนรูเบนตามครอบครัว รวมทั้งหัวเมืองและชนบทด้วย

²⁴ โมเสสได้มอบมรดกให้แก่ตระกูลกาด คือคนกาดตามครอบครัวของเขาด้วย

²⁵ อาณาเขตของเขาคือยาเซอร์และหัวเมืองกิเลอาดทั้งหมด และครึ่งหนึ่งของแผ่นดินคนอัมโมนถึงอาโรเออร์ซึ่งอยู่หน้าเมืองรับบาห์

²⁶ ตั้งแต่เมืองเฮชโบน จนถึงเมืองรามัทมิสเปห์และเบโทนิม และตั้งแต่มาหะนาอิมจนถึงเขตแดนเดบีร์

²⁷ ในหว่างเขา มีเมืองเบธฮารัม เบธนิมราห์ สุคคทและซาโฟน ราชอาณาจักรส่วนที่เหลือของสิโหนกษัตริย์เมืองเฮชโบนนั้น มีแม่น้ำจอร์แดนเป็นพรมแดน จดทะเลคินเนเรทตอนปลายข้างล่าง ด้านตะวันออกของแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้น

³⁰ อาณาเขตของเขาทั้งหลายเริ่มตั้งแต่มาหะนาอิมตลอดบาชานทั้งสิ้น คือราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นของโอกกษัตริย์เมืองบาชาน และหัวเมืองทั้งหมดของยาอีร์ มีหกสิบหัวเมืองด้วยกันอยู่ในบาชาน

³¹ และกิเลอาดครึ่งหนึ่ง และเมืองอัชทาโรทกับเมืองเอเดรอี หัวเมืองของราชอาณาจักรโอกในบาชาน หัวเมืองเหล่านี้เป็นส่วนแบ่งของคนมาคีร์บุตรชายมนัสเสห์ เป็นของครึ่งหนึ่งของคนมาคีร์ ตามครอบครัวของเขา

³² เหล่านี้เป็นดินแดนต่างๆซึ่งโมเสสได้แบ่งปันให้เป็นมรดก ณ ที่ราบโมอับ ฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้นทิศตะวันออกของเมืองเยรีโค

³³ แต่โมเสสมิได้มอบมรดกให้แก่คนตระกูลเลวี พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลเป็นมรดกของเขา ดังที่พระองค์ตรัสไว้กับเขา

¹³ Delilah said to Samson, "Until now, you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me with what you might be bound." He said to her, "If you weave the seven locks of my head with the web."

¹⁴ She fastened it with the pin, and said to him, "The Philistines are on you, Samson!" He awakened out of his sleep, and plucked away the pin of the beam, and the web.

¹⁵ She said to him, "How can you say, 'I love you,' when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies."

¹⁶ It happened, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was troubled to death.

¹⁷ He told her all his heart, and said to her, "No razor has ever come on my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I will become weak, and be like any other man."

¹⁸ When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, "Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart." Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and brought the money in their hand.

¹⁹ She made him sleep on her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

²⁰ She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson!" He awoke out of his sleep, and said, "I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free." But he didn't know that Yahweh had departed from him.

²¹ The Philistines laid hold on him, and put out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he ground at the mill in the prison.

²² However the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.

²³ The lords of the Philistines gathered them together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice; for they said, "Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand."

²⁴ When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said, "Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand."

²⁵ It happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may entertain us." They called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. They set him between the pillars;

²⁶ and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, "Allow me to feel the pillars whereupon the house rests, that I may lean on them."

²⁷ Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were on the roof about three thousand men and women, who saw while Samson performed.

²⁸ Samson called to Yahweh, and said, "Lord Yahweh, remember me, please, and strengthen me, please, only this once, God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes."

²⁹ Samson took hold of the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and leaned on them, the one with his right hand, and the other with his left.

³⁰ Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" He bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell on the lords, and on all the people who were therein. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than those who he killed in his life.

³¹ Then his brothers and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burial site of Manoah his father. He judged Israel twenty years.
