Stumbling block
In Isaiah 57:14, this refers to people who try to destroy the truths and goods of faith in the Lord by falsities which favor the loves of self and the world. (Arcana Coelestia 9348[9]) It also signifies the Human Itself of the Lord to people in the decadent church. (Arcana Coelestia 3488[4])
