2300. In addition to all this young children vary in their nature and disposition. They do so because of their heredity derived from parents and by succession from grandparents and great grandparents; for any action which has been confirmed in parents through habitual practice acquires a natural disposition to it and is implanted through heredity in young children. And this is how they come to possess varying inclinations.
