9859. 'Like the work of the ephod you shall make it' means a continuation from the outermost part of the spiritual kingdom. This is clear from the representation of 'the ephod' as Divine Truth in an outward form in the spiritual kingdom, in which inner things terminate, dealt with in 9824, and therefore as the outermost part of that kingdom. A continuation of this is meant by 'like the work of the ephod', as also in 9838.

9838. 'Shall be of the same workmanship, of [one piece with] it' means that which is like the outermost part of the spiritual kingdom and is a continuation from it. This is clear from the meaning of 'the same workmanship' as that which is like, for what is of the same workmanship as another is like it; and from the meaning of 'of [one piece with] it' as a continuation, for that which is of a piece with another is not only like it but is also a continuation from it. The reason why a continuation from the outermost part of the spiritual kingdom is meant is that the description implies a continuation from the ephod, and 'the ephod' means the outermost part of the spiritual kingdom, 9824.
