Lamentaciones 2:1

1 COMO oscureció el Señor en su furor a la hija de Sión! Derribó del cielo á la tierra la hermosura de Israel, Y no se acordó del estrado de sus pies en el día de su ira.

Provender

In Exodus 32:20, see Strewed.

'To give provender to his donkey,' as in Genesis 42:27, signifies reflection upon scientific ideas, because 'provender' is the food with which donkeys are fed, consisting of straw and chaff, and so it denotes all reflection on scientific ideas, for reflection principally feeds them. 'Provender' signifies the good of scientific truths.

Enemy

Charge of the Huns, by Ulpiano Checa

An enemy in the Bible refers to people who are in the love of evil and the false thinking that springs from evil. On a deeper level it refers to the forces of hell itself, and on an abstract level it refers to evil itself and falsity itself – which are, obviously, the ultimate enemies we have to fight.
