412. Verse 20 And Adah gave birth to Jabal. He was the father of the tent-dweller and of cattle.

'Adah' means, as previously, the mother of the celestial and spiritual things of faith. 'Jabal, the father of the tent-dweller and of cattle' means doctrine concerning the holy things of love, and goods deriving from these, which are celestial.

The Lord calls people who are in truth from the good of charity from Him 'sisters' in Matthew 12:50. 'Sister' denotes intellectual truth and 'wife' celestial truth.
