¹ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့ပျက်စီး၍ အနှစ်ခုနစ်ဆယ် လွန် စေမည်ဟု၊

² ထာဝရဘုရား၏ ဗျာဒိတ်တော်ကို ပရောဖက် ယေရမိ ခံဘူးသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ခါလာဒဲနိုင်ငံကို အစိုးရသော မေဒိအမျိုး၊ အာရွှေရုသားဒါရိနန်းစံပဌမနှစ်တွင်၊ ငါ ဒံယေလသည် ထိုနှစ်ပေါင်းအရေအတွက်ကို ကျမ်းစာ အားဖြင့် သိရသောကြောင့်၊

³ အစာကိုရှောင်လျက်၊ လျှော်တေအဝတ်ကို ဝတ် လျက်၊ ပြာနှင့်လူးလျက်၊ အရှင်ဘုရားသခင့်ထံတော်သို့ ချဉ်းကပ်၍ ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြု၏။

⁴ ထိုသို့ အပြစ်ကို ဘော်ပြတောင်းပန်၍ ငါ ကိုးကွယ်သော ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားထံ ငါပြုသော ပဌနာဟူမူကား၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကိုချစ်၍ ပညတ်တော်တို့ကို စောင့်သော သူတို့အား သစ္စာတော်မပျက်၊ ကရုဏာ တရားကိုစောင့်တော် မူထသော၊ အလွန်ကြီးမြတ်၍ ကြောက်ရွံ့ဘွယ်ဖြစ်တော်မူသော အရှင်ဘုရားသခင်၊

⁵ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ပြစ်မှားမိပါပြီ။ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ပြုမိ ပါပြီ။ မတရားသဖြင့် ကျင့်မိပါပြီ။ ပုန်ကန်မိပါပြီ။ စီရင် ထုံးဖွဲ့တော်မူသော တရားလမ်းမှ လွှဲမိပါပြီ။

⁶ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ရှင်ဘုရင်၊ မင်းသား အသက်ကြီး သူမှစ၍ ပြည်သူပြည်သားအပေါင်းတို့အား ကိုယ်တော်၏ ကျွန်၊ ပရောဖက်တို့၏စကားများကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် နား မထောင်ပဲနေကြပါပြီ။

⁷ အိုဘုရားရှင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် တရားနှင့် ဆိုင် တော်မူ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်ကို ပြစ်မှားသောအပြစ်ကြောင့် နှင်ထုတ်တော်မူ၍ နီးသောပြည်၊ ဝေးသောပြည်၊ အရပ် ရပ်တို့၌နေရသော ယုဒပြည်သူ၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သားမှ စ၍ ဣသရေလလူအပေါင်းတည်းဟူသော အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ သည် ယနေ့၌ရှိသည်အတိုင်း၊ မျက်နှာပျက်ခြင်းနှင့် ဆိုင်ကြပါ၏။

⁸ အိုဘုရားရှင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကို ပြစ်မှားသော ကြောင့်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ရှင်ဘုရင်၊ မင်းသား၊ အသက်ကြီး သူမှစ၍ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် မျက်နှာပျက်ခြင်းနှင့် ဆိုင်ကြ ပါ၏။

⁹ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကို ပုန်ကန်သော် လည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အရှင်ဘုရားသခင်သည် ကရုဏာကို ပြခြင်း၊ အပြစ်ကို ဖြေရှင်းခြင်းအခွင့်နှင့် ဆိုင်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁰ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ကျွန်တော်ရင်း၊ ပရောဖက်တို့ဖြင့် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၌ ထားတော် မူသော ပညတ်တရားတော်လမ်းသို့ လိုက်ခြင်းငှါ၊ ဗျာဒိတ် တော်အသံကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည်နားမထောင်ဘဲ နေကြ ပါပြီ။

¹¹ အကယ်စင်စစ် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားအပေါင်းတို့ သည် ဗျာဒိတ်တော်အသံကို နားမထောင်၊ လွှဲသွား၍ ပညတ်တရားတော်ကို လွန်ကျူးကြပါပြီ။ သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကို ပြစ်မှားသော အပြစ်ကြောင့်၊ ကျိန်ဆိုတော် မူခြင်းတည်းဟူသော ဘုရားသခင်၏ ကျွန်မောရှေ၏ ပညတ္တိကျမ်း၌ မှတ်သားသော အကျိန်ကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ အပေါ်သို့ သွန်းလောင်းတော်မူ၏။

¹² အကျွန်ုပ်တို့တဘက်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ကို အုပ်သော တရားသူကြီးတို့ တဘက်၌ မိန့်တော်မူသော စကားတော် ကို တည်စေ၍၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အပေါ်မှာ ကြီးစွာသော ဘေး ဥပဒ်ကို ရောက်စေတော်မူပြီ။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယေရု ရှလင်မြို့၌ ဘေးရောက်သကဲ့သို့ ကောင်းကင်အောက် တွင် အဘယ်အရပ်၌မျှ မရောက်စဖူးပါ။

¹³ မောရှေ၏ ပညတ္တိကျမ်းစာ၌ မှတ်သားသည် အတိုင်း၊ ဤဘေးဥပဒ်ရှိသမျှသည် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အပေါ်မှာ ရောက်ပါပြီ။ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ဒုစရိုက်များကိုရှောင်၍ သမ္မာတရားတော်ကို နားလည်ခြင်းအလိုငှါ၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားထံတော်၌ မတောင်းပန်ဘဲ နေကြပါပြီတကား။

¹⁴ ထို့ကြောင့် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဘေးဥပဒ်ကို စောင့်၍ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ပြုတော်မူသမျှတို့၌ ဖြောင့်မတ်တော်မူ၏။ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ သည် ဗျာဒိတ်တော်အသံကို နားမထောင်ဘဲ နေကြပါပြီ တကား။

¹⁵ တန်ခိုးကြီးသောလက်တော်ဖြင့် ကိုယ်တော်၏ လူတို့ကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ နှုတ်ဆောင်၍ ယနေ့၌ရှိသည် အတိုင်း အသရေတော်ကို ထင်ရှားစေတော်မူသော အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ အရှင်ဘုရားသခင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ပြစ်မှားမိပါပြီ။ မတရားသဖြင့်ပြုမိပါပြီ။

¹⁶ အိုဘုရားရှင်၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်တော်မူခြင်း တရား တော်ရှိသမျှတို့နှင့်အညီ၊ သန့်ရှင်းသော တောင်တော် တည်းဟူသော ကိုယ်တော်၏ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့မှ ပြင်းစွာ သော ဒေါသမျက်တော်ကို လွှဲတော်မူပါဟု အကျွန်ုပ် တောင်းပန်ပါ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ အပြစ် များမှစ၍ ဘိုးဘေးတို့၏ အပြစ်များကြောင့်၊ ယေရုရှလင် မြို့နှင့် ကိုယ်တော်၏လူစုသည် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်၌ရှိသော သူတို့တွင် ကဲ့ရဲ့စရာအကြောင်း ဖြစ်ပါ၏။

¹⁷ ယခုမူကား၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ဘုရားသခင်၊ ကိုယ် တော်၏ ကျွန်ပြုသော ပဌနာစကားကို နားထောင်တော် မူပါ။ ဆိတ်ညံလျက်ရှိသော သန့်ရှင်းရာဌာနတော်ကို ဘုရားရှင်၏ အကျိုးတော်ကြောင့်၊ မျက်နှာတော် ရောင်ခြည်ကို ထွန်းလင်းစေတော်မူပါ။

¹⁸ အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဘုရားသခင်၊ နားတော်ကိုလှည့်၍ နားထောင်တော်မူပါ။ မျက်စိတော်ကိုဖွင့်၍ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ပျက်စီးရာများကို၎င်း၊ နာမတော်ဖြင့် သမုတ်သောမြို့ကို ၎င်းကြည့်ရှုတော်မူပါ။ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ကိုယ်ကုသိုလ်ကို အမှီမပြု၊ မဟာကရုဏာတော်ကိုသာ အမှီပြု၍ ပဌနာ စကားကို ရှေ့တော်၌ ဆက်ကပ်ပါ၏။

¹⁹ အိုဘုရားရှင်၊ နားထောင်တော်မူပါ။ အိုဘုရား ရှင်၊ နားထောင်၍ ပြုတော်မူပါ။ အိုဘုရားရှင် နားထောင် ၍ပြုတော်မူပါ။ အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဘုရားသခင်၊ ကိုယ်တော် အတွက် ဖင့်နွှဲတော်မမူပါနှင့်။ ကိုယ်တော်၏ လူစုသည် နာမတော်ဖြင့် သမုတ်ခြင်းရှိပါသည်ဟု ဆုတောင်းပဌနာ ပြု၏။

²⁰ ထိုသို့ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြု၍၊ ကိုယ်အပြစ်ကို၎င်း၊ အမျိုးသားချင်း ဣသရေလလူတို့၏ အပြစ်ကို၎င်း ဘော်ပြတောင်းပန်၍၊ ငါကိုးကွယ်သော ဘုရားသခင်၏ သန့်ရှင်းသော တောင်တော်အဘို့ ငါပြုသော ပဌနာ စကားကို၊ ငါ၏ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ ဆက်ကပ် လျက်နေ၍၊

²¹ ဆုတောင်းသော အမှုမပြီးမှီ မြွက်ဆိုစဉ်တွင် ယခင်ဗျာဒိတ် ရူပါရုံ၌ ထင်ရှားသောသူ၊ ဂါဗေလသည် လျင်မြန်စွာ ပျံ၍လာသဖြင့် ညဦးယံ ပူဇော်ချိန်၌ ရှိရာသို့ ရောက်၍

²² နှုတ်ဆက်လျက်၊ အချင်းဒံယေလ၊ ငါသည် သင် ၌ ဥာဏ်ပညာတိုးပွားစေမည်အကြောင်း ထွက်လာပြီ။

²³ သင်သည် ဆုတောင်းစပြုသောအခါ အမိန့် တော်ရှိသည်ဖြစ်၍ သင့်အားကြားပြောခြင်းငှါ ငါရောက် လာပြီ။ သင်သည် အလွန်ချစ်အပ်သောသူဖြစ်၏။ ထိုကြောင့် ဗျာဒိတ်တော်အချက်ကို ဆင်ခြင်၍ နားလည် ရသော အခွင့်ရှိ၏။

²⁴ လွန်ကျူးခြင်းအမှုကို ဆီးတား၍ အပြစ်ကို တံဆိပ်ခတ်စေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်ကို ဖြေရှင်း ထာဝရကုသိုလ်ကို သွင်းစေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း ဗျာဒိတ်ရူပါရုံနှင့် အနာဂတ္တိဗျာဒိတ်တော်တို့ကို တံဆိပ်ခတ်၍၊ အလွန် သန့်ရှင်းသော အရပ်ဌာနကိုလိမ်းစေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ သိတင်း ခုနစ်ဆယ်ကို သင်၏ အမျိုးသားချင်းအဘို့နှင့် သင်၏ သန့်ရှင်းသောမြို့အဘို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်ခြင်းရှိ၏။

²⁵ ထိုကြောင့်၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့ကိုတဖန် တည်ထောင်ပြုစုစေခြင်းငှါ အမိန့်တော်ရှိသည် နေ့မှစ၍ ခရစ်တော်သခင်၏ လက်ထပ်တိုင်အောင် ခုနစ်သိတင်းနှင့် ခြောက်ဆယ်နှစ်သိတင်း ကြာလိမ့်မည်ဟု သိမှတ်နားလည်လော့။ အနှောင့်အရှက် ခံရသောကာလ၌ မြို့လမ်းကို တဖန် တည်ထောင်ပြုစုရမည်ဟု စီရင်ဆုံးဖြတ်ခြင်းရှိ၏။

²⁶ ထိုသိတင်းခြောက်ဆယ်နှစ်သိတင်းလွန်ပြီးမှ ခရစ်တော်သည် အခွင့်မရဘဲအသေသတ်ခြင်းကို ခံရလိမ့် မည်။ ထိုနောက်မှလာသော သခင်၏ လူတို့သည် မြို့တော်ကို၎င်း၊ သန့်ရှင်းရာဌာနကို၎င်း ဖြိုဖျက်ကြလိမ့် မည်။ ရေ လွှမ်းမိုးသော အားဖြင့် ဆုံးရှုံးခြင်းဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ အဆုံးတိုင်အောင် စစ်တိုက်ခြင်း၊ ပျက်စီးရာနှင့်ဆိုင်သော စီရင်ဆုံးဖြတ်ခြင်းရှိလိမ့်မည်။

²⁷ တသိတင်းတွင် လူအများတို့နှင့် ပဋိညာဉ် ဖွဲ့ခြင်းရှိ၍ ထိုသိတင်းတဝက်တွင် ယဇ်ပူဇော်ခြင်းနှင့် ဆက်ကပ်ခြင်းကို ပပျောက်စေလိမ့်မည်။ ရွံ့ရှာဘွယ် သောအရာ၏ အထွဋ်ပေါ်သို့ ဖျက်ဆီးသော သူသည် ရောက်၍ စီရင်ဆုံးဖြတ်သော သုတ်သင်ပယ်ရှင်းခြင်း သည် ပျက်စီးအပ်သော သူတို့ကို မလွှမ်းမိုးမှီတိုင်အောင် ထိုသို့ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်ဟု ကြားပြော၏။

²⁴ သို့ရာတွင်၊ သူတို့သည် နားမထောင်၊ နားကို မလှည့်ဘဲ ဆိုးညစ်သော နှလုံးခိုင်မာသည်နှင့်အညီ ကျင့်ကြံပြုမူ၍ မျက်နှာမပြု၊ ကျောခိုင်းလျက် နေကြ၏။

⁹ Thus says Yahweh, In this way I will mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

¹⁰ This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and are gone after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.

¹¹ For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so have I caused to cling to me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, says Yahweh; that they may be to me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

¹² Therefore you shall speak to them this word: Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall tell you, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?

¹³ Then you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

¹⁴ I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says Yahweh: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them.

¹⁵ Hear, and give ear; don't be proud; for Yahweh has spoken.

¹⁶ Give glory to Yahweh your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.

¹⁷ But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for [your] pride; and my eye shall weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because Yahweh's flock is taken captive.

¹⁸ Say to the king and to the queen mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headdresses have come down, even the crown of your glory.

¹⁹ The cities of the South are shut up, and there is none to open them: Judah is carried away captive, all of it; it is wholly carried away captive.

²⁰ Lift up your eyes, and see those who come from the north: where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock?

²¹ What will you say, when he shall set over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? shall not sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?

²² If you say in your heart, Why are these things come on me? for the greatness of your iniquity are your skirts uncovered, and your heels suffer violence.

²³ Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.

²⁴ Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that passes away, by the wind of the wilderness.

²⁵ This is your lot, the portion measured to you from me, says Yahweh; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

²⁶ Therefore will I also uncover your skirts on your face, and your shame shall appear.

²⁷ I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries, and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean; how long shall it yet be?
