ဘုရားသခင်သည် သောဒုံမြို့နှင့် ဂေါမောရမြို့ကို မှောက်လှန်သကဲ့သို့၊ သင်တို့အချို့ကိုငါမှောက်လှန်၍ သင်တို့သည် မီးထဲကနှုတ်သောထင်းစကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်ကြပြီ။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ငါ့ထံသို့ ပြန်၍မလာကြဟု ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

3684. 'And that Jacob had listened to his father and to his mother' [means obedience and affection]. This is clear from the meaning of 'listening to someone' or hearkening as obeying, dealt with in 2542. Doing so 'to father and mother' means obedience due to affection.
