¹⁷ അവര്‍ ദുര്‍ഭൂതങ്ങള്‍ക്കു, ദൈവമല്ലാത്തവേക്കു, തങ്ങള്‍ അറിയാത്ത ദേവന്മാര്‍ക്കും ബലികഴിച്ചു; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ അവയെ ഭജിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അവ നൂതനമായി ഉത്ഭവിച്ച നവീനമൂര്‍ത്തികള്‍ അത്രേ.

¹⁴ For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
