Explanation of Numbers 3:4

Napsal(a) Henry MacLagan

Verse 4. But when spiritual truth and good are profaned by the man of the church, spiritual death is the consequence; and this occurs in the obscurity of good from the lack of truths, so that spiritual truth and good are not productive; yet still the church is amended, on the natural plane, by the ministry of natural truth and good, which are from the Lord through the celestial heaven.

7082. There are two life-giving properties in the natural world - heat and light; and there are two life-giving properties in the spiritual world - love and faith. Heat in the natural world corresponds to love in the spiritual world, and light in the natural world corresponds to faith in the spiritual world. So it is that when one speaks of spiritual heat or fire one means love, and when one speaks of spiritual light one means faith. Furthermore love in actual fact constitutes a person's vital heat, for it is well known that love is what causes a person to warm up, while faith in actual fact constitutes the light in a person, for as may also be well known faith is what enables a person to be enlightened.
