οὐχί κύριε ἀκήκοα γῆ τετρακοσίων διδράχμων ἀργυρίου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ τί ἂν εἴη τοῦτο σὺ δὲ τὸν νεκρόν σου θάψον
2808. 'And the two of them went on together' means still closer union, the closest that was now possible. This becomes clear without explanation. The reason a still closer union is meant here is that the same thing is being said for a second time, see 2800.
