Explanation of Deuteronomy 32:42
Napsal(a) Alexander Payne
Verse 42. The new truths that dart into the understanding from heaven will dissipate old fallacies, and imbibe and appropriate the truths that were in them; and Truth Divine will combat with and destroy the hereditary evils of the will, and will appropriate all the truths of the mind that were paralyzed by evils, and kept bound by falses, because the soul has begun to turn away from itself and from evil, and to look to the Lord.

230. It must be known, however, that the angels have no power whatever of themselves, but that all their power is from the Lord; and that they are powers only so far as they acknowledge this. Whoever among them believes that he has power of himself instantly becomes so weak as not to be able to resist even a single evil spirit. For this reason angels ascribe no merit whatever to themselves, and are averse to all praise and glory on account of any thing they do, ascribing it to the Lord.
