'The Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites' were just so many nations, who also mean just so many different forms of idolatry. 'And afterwards the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad' means that all other forms of idolatrous worship stem from these.

'Remembering' denotes conjunction because the remembrance of anyone in the other life joins them together, because as soon as any spirit remembers another, he is brought so close that they can talk together. This is how angels and spirits can meet with anyone they have known, and anyone they have heard of, can see them present, and talk with them, when the Lord allows them 'to remember' them.

In Genesis 41:9, this signifies conjunction.
