1
The burden of the word of Jehovah in the land of Ḥadrach, and Damascus shall be its rest; for the eye of man, and of all the tribes◦ of Israel, shall be to Jehovah.
2
And Ḥamath also shall border on◦ her; Tyre and Zidon, for she is· very ·wise.
3
And Tyre built for herself a battlement, and piled··up silver as dust, and choice··gold as the mud of the streets.
4
Behold, the Lord will dispossess her, and He will smite her host in the sea; and she◦ shall be devoured with fire.
5
Ashkelon shall see and fear; also◦ Gaza, and she shall travail exceedingly; and Ekron, for her expectation◦ shall dry··up; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be dwelt··in.
6
And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut··off the pride of the Philistines.
7
And I will remove his blood from his mouth, and his detestable things from between his teeth; but he who is left, even he◦, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a leader in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
8
And I will encamp for My house, from the army passing··through and returning; and the taskmaster shall not pass··through against them any··more: for now have I seen with My eyes.
9
Rejoice exceedingly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, thy King comes to thee; He◦ is just and saving, afflicted and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the son of a she··donkey.
10
And I will cut··off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war shall be cut··off; and He shall speak peace to the nations; and His rule shall be from sea to◦ sea, and from the river even to◦ the ends◦ of the earth.
11
As for Thee◦ also, by the blood of Thy covenant I have sent Thy bound ones out of the pit in which is no water.
12
Return ye to the fortification, ye who are bound by hope◦; even today I tell thee that I will Return double◦ to thee.
13
For I have bent◦ Judah for Me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and stirred··up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Javan, and set thee as a sword of a hero.
14
And Jehovah shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go··out as the lightning; and the Lord Jehovih* shall sound the shophar*, and shall walk in the tempests of the south◦.
15
Jehovah of Armies shall defend them; and they shall devour and subdue with the stones of a sling; and they shall drink tumult like▵ wine; and they shall be··filled as a basin, as the corners◦ of the altar.
16
And Jehovah their God shall save them in that◦ day as the flock of His people; for they shall be as the stones of a crown◦, borne··as··a··standard over His ground.
17
For how··much is His goodness, and how··much is His beauty! Grain will make the young··men mature, and must* will make mature the virgins.
