Psalms 65

Studie

1 To the victor; a psalm of David, a song.
2 For Thee stillness is praise, O God, in Zion;
and to Thee shall the vow be paid.

2 3 O Thou who hearest prayer,
to Thee shall all flesh come.

3 4 Words of iniquities prevail against me;
as for our transgressions, Thou wilt make··atonement··for them.

4 5 Happy is he whom Thou choosest, and causest to come··near;
he will inhabit Thy courts;
we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house,
With the holy place of Thy temple.

5 6 Fearsome things wilt Thou answer us in justice,
O God of our salvation;
the trust of all the ends* of the earth,
and of the sea, of those who are afar··off;

6 7 who, in His power, establishes the mountains,
being girded with might;

7 8 who quells the uproar of the seas, the uproar of their waves,
and the noise of the peoples.

8 9 And they who dwell in the ends shall fear at Thy signs;
Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to sing··aloud.

9 10 Thou visitest the earth and delightest··in her,
Thou enrichest her much;
the stream of God is··full of water;
Thou preparest them grain, when Thou so preparest her.

10 11 Her furrows Thou soakest;
Thou settlest her ridges;
With showers Thou dissolvest her;
her growth Thou blessest.

11 12 Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness;
and Thy paths drip fatness.

12 13 They drip upon the sheep··folds of the wilderness,
and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing.

13 14 The meadows clothe· themselves ·with the flock, and the valleys shroud· themselves ·with grain;
they shout, yea, they sing.
