Haggai 2

Studie

1 In the seventh month, in the twentieth and first day of the month, the word of Jehovah was by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,

2 Say now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the great priest, and to those who··are··left of the people, saying,

3 Who is left among you who saw this house in its first glory, and how do you see it now? Is it not as··it··were as nothing in your eyes?

4 And now be··firm, O Zerubbabel, says Jehovah; and be··firm, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the great priest; and be··firm, all ye people of the land, says Jehovah, and do; for I am with you, says Jehovah of Armies.

5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when you went··out from Egypt, so My spirit stood among you; fear ye not.

6 For thus says Jehovah of Armies: once more—it is a··little while—and I will cause the heavens to quake, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

7 and I will cause all nations to quake, and the desire of all nations shall come; and I will··fill this house with glory, says Jehovah of Armies.

8 The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says Jehovah of Armies.

9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the first, says Jehovah of Armies; and in this place I will give peace, says Jehovah of Armies.

10 In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, was the word of Jehovah to Haggai the prophet, saying,

11 Thus says Jehovah of Armies: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

12 Behold, a man bears holy flesh in the wing of his garment, and with his wing touches bread, or stew, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it be··holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

13 And Haggai said, If one who is defiled unclean by a dead body should touch any of these, shall· it ·be··unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall··be··unclean.

14 And Haggai answered and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before Me, says Jehovah; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there, it is unclean.

15 And now, I pray you, Set your heart from this day and upward: from before a stone was set onto a stone in the temple of Jehovah

16 from when they used··to··be, when he came to a stack of twenty, and there were ten; when he came to the winepress to scoop··out fifty from the wine··vat, and there were twenty.

17 I smote you with scorching and with mildew and with hail in all the deeds of your hands; and you turned not to Me, says Jehovah.

18 Set your heart, I pray you, from this day and upward, from the twentieth and fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the founding of Jehovah’s temple was made, set your heart.

19 Is the seed still in the granary? As yet the vine, and the fig··tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, has not borne; but from this day will I bless you.

20 And again the word of Jehovah was to Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,

21 Say to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will cause the heavens and the earth to quake;

22 and I will overturn the throne of kingdoms, and I will blot··out the firmness of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overturn the chariots, and those who ride in them, and the horses and their riders shall go··down, a man by the sword of his brother.

23 In that day, says Jehovah of Armies, I will take thee, O Zerubbabel, My servant, the son of Shealtiel, says Jehovah, and will set thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, says Jehovah of Armies.

Scriptural Confirmations # 4

/ 101

4. 2. The Son of God (Romans 1:3-4).

Called after Jesus Christ, Christians (Romans 1:6) through the faith of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22).

Faith in Christ. Through Jesus Christ we have peace toward God, and to God we have access by faith into this grace, and we glory in the hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2).

By Jesus Christ were we reconciled to God (Romans 5:10,11).

As by one man sin entered into the world, so by the justice of one are we justified (Romans 5:12, 13, 15, 18-19).

There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, in order that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit (Romans 8:1-4). Christ is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, hunger, death, angels, principalities, height, depth, etc. (Romans 8:35-39)?

From the fathers Christ is according to the flesh, who is over all; God blessed forever. Amen (Romans 9:5).

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

We are one body in Christ; all are members having different gifts according to grace (Romans 12:5-6). The gifts which belong to different members are enumerated in a long series (verses 6, 13).

Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 13:14).

Whether we live, we live in the Lord; whether we die, we die in the Lord; therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died and rose and lived again that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living (Romans 14:8-9).

It is written, I live, saith the Lord, for every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God (Romans 14:11). Isaiah saith, there shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to rule over the nations; in Him shall the nations hope (Romans 15:12).

The Gospel of Christ (Romans 15:19-21).

Chosen and tried in the Lord, in Christ: to work and labor in the Lord (Romans 16:8-13).
