¹ こうして、彼はわたしを連れて、聖所の東に向いている外の門に帰ると、門は閉じてあった。

² 彼はわたしに言った、「この門は閉じたままにしておけ、開いてはならない。ここからだれもはいってはならない。イスラエルの神、主が、ここからはいったのだから、これは閉じたままにしておけ。

³ ただ君たる者だけが、この内に座し、主の前でパンを食し、門の廊を通ってはいり、またそこから外に出よ」。

⁴ 彼はまたわたしを連れて、北の門の道から宮の前に行った。わたしが見ていると、見よ、主の栄光が主の宮に満ちた。わたしがひれ伏すと、

⁵ 主はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、主の宮のすべてのおきてと、そのすべての規定とについて、わたしがあなたに告げるすべての事に心をとめ、目を注ぎ、耳を傾けよ。また宮にはいることを許されている者と、聖所にはいることのできない者とに心せよ。

⁶ また反逆の家であるイスラエルの家に言え。主なる神は、こう言われる、イスラエルの家よ、その憎むべきことをやめよ。

⁷ すなわちあなたがたは、わたしの食物である脂肪と血とがささげられる時、心にも肉にも、割礼を受けない異邦人を入れて、わが聖所におらせ、これを汚した。また、もろもろの憎むべきものをもって、わが契約を破った。

⁸ あなたがたは、わが聖なる物を守る務を怠り、かえって異邦人を立てて、わが聖所の務を守らせた。

⁹ それゆえ、主なる神は、こう言われる、イスラエルの人々のうちにいるすべての異邦人のうち、心と肉とに割礼を受けないすべての者は、わが聖所にはいってはならない。

¹⁰ またレビ人であって、イスラエルが迷った時、偶像を慕い、わたしから迷い出て、遠く離れた者は、その罪を負わなければならない。

¹¹ すなわち彼らはわが聖所で、仕え人となり、宮の門を守る者となり、宮に仕えるしもべとなり、民のために、燔祭および犠牲のものを殺し、彼らの前に立って仕えなければならない。

¹² 彼らはその偶像の前で民に仕え、イスラエルの家にとって、罪のつまずきとなったゆえ、主なる神は言われる、わたしは彼らについて誓った。彼らはその罪を負わなければならない。

¹³ 彼らはわたしに近づき、祭司として、わたしに仕えることはできない。またわたしの聖なる物、および最も聖なる物に、近づいてはならない。彼らはそのおこなった憎むべきことのため、恥を負わなければならない。

¹⁴ しかし彼らには、宮を守る務をさせ、そのもろもろの務と、宮でなすべきすべての事とに当らせる。

¹⁵ しかしザドクの子孫であるレビの祭司たち、すなわちイスラエルの人々が、わたしを捨てて迷った時に、わが聖所の務を守った者どもは、わたしに仕えるために近づき、脂肪と血とをわたしにささげるために、わたしの前に立てと、主なる神は言われる。

¹⁶ すなわち彼らはわが聖所に入り、わが台に近づいてわたしに仕え、わたしの務を守る。

¹⁷ 彼らが内庭の門にはいる時は、麻の衣服を着なければならない。内庭の門および宮の内で、務をなす時は、毛織物を身につけてはならない。

¹⁸ また頭には亜麻布の冠をつけ、腰には亜麻布の袴をつけなければならない。ただし汗の出るような衣を身につけてはならない。

¹⁹ 彼らは外庭に出る時、すなわち外庭に出て民に接する時は、務をなす時の衣服は脱いで聖なる室に置き、ほかの衣服を着なければならない。これはその衣服をもって、その聖なることを民にうつさないためである。

²⁰ 彼らはまた頭をそってはならない。また髪を長くのばしてはならない。その頭の髪は切らなければならない。

²¹ 祭司はすべて内庭にはいる時は、酒を飲んではならない。

²² また寡婦、および出された女をめとってはならない。ただイスラエルの家の血統の処女、あるいは祭司の妻で、やもめになったものをめとらなければならない。

²³ 彼らはわが民に、聖と俗との区別を教え、汚れたものと、清いものとの区別を示さなければならない。

²⁴ 争いのある時は、さばきのために立ち、わがおきてにしたがってさばき、また、わたしのもろもろの祭の時は、彼らはわが律法と定めを守り、わが安息日を、聖別しなければならない。

²⁵ 死人に近づいて、身を汚してはならない。ただ父のため、母のため、むすこのため、娘のため、兄弟のため、夫をもたない姉妹のためには、近よって身を汚すことも許される。

²⁶ このような人は、汚れた後、自身のために、七日の期間を数えよ。そうすれば清まる。

²⁷ 彼は聖所に入り、内庭に行き、聖所で務に当る日には、罪祭をささげなければならないと、主なる神は言われる。

²⁸ 彼らには嗣業はない。わたしがその嗣業である。あなたがたはイスラエルの中で、彼らに所有を与えてはならない。わたしが彼らの所有である。

²⁹ 彼らは素祭、罪祭、愆祭の物を食べる。すべてイスラエルのうちのささげられた物は彼らの物となる。

³⁰ すべての物の初なりの初物、およびすべてあなたがたのささげるもろもろのささげ物は、みな祭司のものとなる。またあなたがたの麦粉の初物は祭司に与えよ。これはあなたがたの家が、祝福されるためである。

³¹ 祭司は、鳥でも獣でも、すべて自然に死んだもの、または裂き殺されたものを食べてはならない。

¹ The burden of Egypt: "Behold, Yahweh rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

² I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

³ The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst. I will destroy its counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.

⁴ I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them," says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

⁵ The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and become dry.

⁶ The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.

⁷ The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.

⁸ The fishermen will lament, and all those who fish in the Nile will mourn, and those who spread nets on the waters will languish.

⁹ Moreover those who work in combed flax, and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded.

¹⁰ The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.

¹¹ The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, "I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?"

¹² Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what Yahweh of Armies has purposed concerning Egypt.

¹³ The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, who are the cornerstone of her tribes.

¹⁴ Yahweh has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

¹⁵ Neither shall there be for Egypt any work, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.

¹⁶ In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Yahweh of Armies, which he shakes over them.

¹⁷ The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of Yahweh of Armies, which he determines against it.

¹⁸ In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to Yahweh of Armies. One will be called "The city of destruction."

¹⁹ In that day, there will be an altar to Yahweh in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Yahweh at its border.

²⁰ It will be for a sign and for a witness to Yahweh of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yahweh because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.

²¹ Yahweh will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yahweh in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to Yahweh, and will perform it.

²² Yahweh will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to Yahweh, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.

²³ In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

²⁴ In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth;

²⁵ because Yahweh of Armies has blessed them, saying, "blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance."
