Deuteronomio 1:31
To many Protestant and Evangelical Italians, the Bibles translated by Giovanni Diodati are an important part of their history. Diodati’s first Italian Bible edition was printed in 1607, and his second in 1641. He died in 1649. Throughout the 1800s two editions of Diodati’s text were printed by the British Foreign Bible Society. This is the more recent 1894 edition, translated by Claudiana.
Stars of the heavens
'The stars of the heavens,' as in Genesis 22:17, signify spiritual people. Throughout the Word, these people are compared to stars from the knowledge of good and truth which they possess. This is not the case with celestial people, because they do not have knowledge, but perception. Stars lighten the night because the light which the spiritual enjoy is a kind of nocturnal light, like from the moon and the stars, compared to the midday light which the celestial enjoy.
