Ιερεμία 32

1 Ο λογος ο γενομενος προς τον Ιερεμιαν παρα Κυριου εν τω δεκατω ετει του Σεδεκιου βασιλεως του Ιουδα, το οποιον ητο το δεκατον ογδοον ετος του Ναβουχοδονοσορ.

2 Και τοτε το στρατευμα του βασιλεως της Βαβυλωνος επολιορκει την Ιερουσαλημ· και ο Ιερεμιας ο προφητης ητο κεκλεισμενος εν τη αυλη της φυλακης, της εν τω οικω του βασιλεως του Ιουδα.

3 Διοτι Σεδεκιας ο βασιλευς του Ιουδα ειχε κλεισει αυτον, λεγων, Δια τι συ προφητευεις λεγων, Ουτω λεγει Κυριος, Ιδου, εγω θελω παραδωσει την πολιν ταυτην εις την χειρα του βασιλεως της Βαβυλωνος και θελει κυριευσει αυτην·

4 και Σεδεκιας ο βασιλευς του Ιουδα δεν θελει εκφυγει εκ της χειρος των Χαλδαιων, αλλα θελει βεβαιως παραδοθη εις την χειρα του βασιλεως της Βαβυλωνος και θελει λαλησει μετ' αυτου στομα προς στομα και οι οφθαλμοι αυτου θελουσιν ιδει τους οφθαλμους αυτου·

5 και θελει φερει τον Σεδεκιαν εις την Βαβυλωνα και εκει θελει εισθαι, εωσου επισκεφθω αυτον, λεγει Κυριος· και εαν πολεμησητε τους Χαλδαιους, δεν θελετε ευδοκιμησει.

6 Και ειπεν ο Ιερεμιας, Εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς εμε, λεγων,

7 Ιδου, Αναμεηλ, ο υιος του Σαλλουμ του θειου σου, θελει ελθει προς σε, λεγων, Αγορασον εις σεαυτον τον αγρον μου τον εν Αναθωθ· διοτι εις σε ανηκει το δικαιωμα εξαγορας δια να αγορασης αυτον.

8 Και ηλθε προς εμε Αναμεηλ, ο υιος του θειου μου, εις την αυλην της φυλακης, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου, και ειπε προς εμε, Αγορασον, παρακαλω, τον αγρον μου τον εν Αναθωθ, τον εν τη γη Βενιαμιν· διοτι εις σε ανηκει το δικαιωμα της κληρονομιας και εις σε η εξαγορα· αγορασον αυτον εις σεαυτον. Τοτε εγνωρισα οτι λογος Κυριου ητο ουτος.

9 Και ηγορασα παρα του Αναμεηλ, υιου του θειου μου, τον αγρον τον εν Αναθωθ και εζυγισα προς αυτον τα χρηματα, δεκαεπτα σικλους αργυριου.

10 Και εγραψα το συμφωνητικον και εσφραγισα και εβαλον μαρτυρας και εζυγισα τα χρηματα εν τη πλαστιγγι.

11 Και ελαβον το συμφωνητικον της αγορας, το εσφραγισμενον κατα τον νομον και την συνηθειαν και το ανοικτον·

12 και εδωκα το συμφωνητικον της αγορας εις τον Βαρουχ τον υιον του Νηριου υιου του Μαασιου, εμπροσθεν του Αναμεηλ υιου του θειου μου και εμπροσθεν των μαρτυρων των υπογραψαντων το συμφωνητικον της αγορας, εμπροσθεν παντων των Ιουδαιων των καθημενων εν τη αυλη της φυλακης.

13 Και προσεταξα τον Βαρουχ εμπροσθεν αυτων, λεγων,

14 Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ· Λαβε τα συμφωνητικα ταυτα, το συμφωνητικον τουτο της αγορας και το εσφραγισμενον και το συμφωνητικον τουτο το ανοικτον· και θες αυτα εις αγγειον πηλινον, δια να διαμενωσιν ημερας πολλας.

15 Διοτι ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ· Οικιαι και αγροι και αμπελοι θελουσιν αποκτηθη παλιν εν ταυτη τη γη.

16 Αφου δε εδωκα το συμφωνητικον, της αγορας εις τον Βαρουχ τον υιον του Νηριου προσηυχηθην εις τον Κυριον, λεγων,

17 Ω Κυριε Θεε· ιδου, συ εκαμες τον ουρανον και την γην εν τη δυναμει σου τη μεγαλη και εν τω βραχιονι σου τω εξηπλωμενω· δεν ειναι ουδεν πραγμα δυσκολον εις σε.

18 Καμνεις ελεος εις χιλιαδας και ανταποδιδεις την ανομιαν των πατερων εις τον κολπον των τεκνων αυτων μετ' αυτους· ο Θεος ο μεγας, ο ισχυρος, Κυριος των δυναμεων το ονομα αυτου,

19 μεγας εν βουλη και δυνατος εν εργοις· διοτι οι οφθαλμοι σου ειναι ανεωγμενοι επι πασας τας οδους των υιων των ανθρωπων, δια να δωσης εις εκαστον κατα τας οδους αυτου και κατα τον καρπον των εργων αυτου·

20 οστις εκαμες σημεια και τερατα εν τη γη της Αιγυπτου, γνωστα εως της ημερας ταυτης, και εν Ισραηλ και εν ανθρωποις· και εκαμες εις σεαυτον ονομα, ως την ημεραν ταυτην.

21 και εξηγαγες τον λαον σου τον Ισραηλ εκ γης Αιγυπτου με σημεια και με τερατα και με κραταιαν χειρα και με βραχιονα εξηπλωμενον και με τρομον μεγαν·

22 και εδωκας εις αυτους την γην ταυτην, την οποιαν ωμοσας προς τους πατερας αυτων να δωσης εις αυτους, γην ρεουσαν γαλα και μελι·

23 και εισηλθον και εκληρονομησαν αυτην· αλλα δεν υπηκουσαν εις την φωνην σου ουδε περιεπατησαν εν τω νομω σου· δεν εκαμον ουδεν εκ παντων οσα προσεταξας εις αυτους να καμωσι· δια τουτο επεφερες επ' αυτους απαν τουτο το κακον.

24 Ιδου, τα χαρακωματα εφθασαν εις την πολιν, δια να κυριευσωσιν αυτην· και η πολις εδοθη εις την χειρα των Χαλδαιων των πολεμουντων κατ' αυτης, εξ αιτιας της μαχαιρας και της πεινης και του λοιμου· και ο, τι ελαλησας, εγεινε· και ιδου, βλεπεις·

25 και συ ειπας προς εμε, Κυριε Θεε, Αγορασον εις σεαυτον τον αγρον δι' αργυριου και παραστησον μαρτυρας· και η πολις εδοθη εις την χειρα των Χαλδαιων.

26 Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου προς τον Ιερεμιαν, λεγων,

27 Ιδου, εγω ειμαι Κυριος ο Θεος πασης σαρκος· ειναι τι πραγμα δυσκολον εις εμε;

28 δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος· Ιδου, θελω παραδωσει την πολιν ταυτην εις την χειρα των Χαλδαιων και εις την χειρα του Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεως της Βαβυλωνος, και θελει κυριευσει αυτην·

29 και οι Χαλδαιοι οι πολεμουντες κατα της πολεως ταυτης θελουσιν ελθει και βαλει πυρ εις την πολιν ταυτην και κατακαυσει αυτην και τας οικιας, επι τα δωματα των οποιων εθυμιαζον εις τον Βααλ και εκαμνον σπονδας εις αλλους θεους, δια να με παροργισωσι.

30 Διοτι οι υιοι Ισραηλ και οι υιοι Ιουδα κακον μονον εκαμνον ενωπιον μου εκ νεοτητος αυτων· διοτι οι υιοι Ισραηλ αλλο δεν εκαμνον, παρα να με παροργιζωσι δια των εργων των χειρων αυτων, λεγει Κυριος.

31 Διοτι η πολις αυτη εσταθη εις εμε ερεθισμος της οργης μου και του θυμου μου, αφ' ης ημερας ωκοδομησαν αυτην εως της ημερας ταυτης, δια να απορριψω αυτην απ' εμπροσθεν μου,

32 ενεκεν πασης της κακιας των υιων Ισραηλ και των υιων Ιουδα, την οποιαν εκαμον δια να με παροργισωσιν, αυτοι, οι βασιλεις αυτων, οι αρχοντες αυτων, οι ιερεις αυτων και οι προφηται αυτων και οι ανδρες Ιουδα και οι κατοικοι της Ιερουσαλημ.

33 Και εστρεψαν νωτα προς εμε και ουχι προσωπον· και εδιδασκον αυτους εγειρομενος πρωι και διδασκων, πλην δεν ηκουσαν, ωστε να λαβωσι παιδειαν·

34 αλλ' εθεσαν τα βδελυγματα αυτων εν τω οικω, εφ' ον εκληθη το ονομα μου, δια να μιανωσιν αυτον.

35 Και ωκοδομησαν τους υψηλους τοπους του Βααλ τους εν τη φαραγγι του υιου Εννομ, δια να διαπερασωσι τους υιους αυτων και τας θυγατερας αυτων δια του πυρος εις τον Μολοχ· το οποιον δεν προσεταξα εις αυτους ουδε ανεβη επι την καρδιαν μου, να πραξωσι το βδελυγμα τουτο, ωστε να καμωσι τον Ιουδαν να αμαρτανη.

36 Και τωρα δια ταυτα ουτω λεγει Κυριος, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ, περι της πολεως ταυτης, περι ης υμεις λεγετε, Θελει παραδοθη εις την χειρα του βασιλεως της Βαβυλωνος, δια μαχαιρας και δια πεινης και δια λοιμου·

37 ιδου, θελω συναξει αυτους εκ παντων των τοπων, οπου εδιωξα αυτους εν τη οργη μου και εν τω θυμω μου και εν τη μεγαλη αγανακτησει μου· και θελω επιστρεψει αυτους εις τον τοπον τουτον και θελω κατοικισει αυτους εν ασφαλεια·

38 και θελουσιν εισθαι λαος μου και εγω θελω εισθαι Θεος αυτων·

39 και θελω δωσει εις αυτους καρδιαν μιαν και οδον μιαν, δια να με φοβωνται πασας τας ημερας, δια το καλον αυτων και των τεκνων αυτων μετ' αυτους·

40 και θελω καμει διαθηκην αιωνιον προς αυτους, οτι δεν θελω αποστρεψει απ' οπισω αυτων, δια να αγαθοποιω αυτους· και θελω δωσει τον φοβον μου εις τας καρδιας αυτων, δια να μη αποστατησωσιν απ' εμου·

41 και θελω ευφραινεσθαι επ' αυτους εις το να αγαθοποιω αυτους, και θελω φυτευσει αυτους εν τη γη ταυτη κατα αληθειαν, εξ ολης μου της καρδιας και εξ ολης μου της ψυχης.

42 Διοτι ουτω λεγει Κυριος· Καθως επεφερα επι τουτον τον λαον παντα ταυτα τα μεγαλα κακα, ουτω θελω επιφερει επ' αυτους παντα τα αγαθα, τα οποια εγω ελαλησα περι αυτων.

43 Και θελουσιν αποκτηθη αγροι εν τη γη ταυτη, περι της οποιας σεις λεγετε, Ειναι ερημος χωρις ανθρωπου η κτηνους· παρεδοθη εις την χειρα των Χαλδαιων.

44 Θελουσιν αγοραζει αγρους δι' αργυριου και υπογραφει συμφωνητικα και σφραγιζει και θελουσι παριστανει μαρτυρας, εν τη γη Βενιαμιν και εν τοις περιξ Ιερουσαλημ και εν ταις πολεσι του Ιουδα και εν ταις πολεσι της ορεινης και εν ταις πολεσι της πεδινης και εν ταις πολεσι του νοτου· διοτι θελω επιστρεψει την αιχμαλωσιαν αυτων, λεγει Κυριος.

6960. 'Put your hand into your bosom' means making truth their own. This is clear from the meaning of 'hand' as power, dealt with above in 6947; and from the meaning of 'bosom' as love, for the parts of the chest correspond to love since the chest holds within it the heart, which corresponds to celestial love, and the lungs, which correspond to spiritual love, 3635, 3883-3896, 4112, 4113, 4133. And as 'the bosom' therefore corresponds to love it also means that which is one's own, because what constitutes a person's love is that which is his own. For this reason 'putting a hand into one's bosom' here means making something one's own. The fact that making truth one's own is what is meant is evident from the things that follow in the narrative and also from the consideration that truth is what spiritual power consists in, 6948.

[2] The fact that 'the bosom' means that which is a person's true self, and so that which is his own, and from this means making something one's own and joining to oneself through love, is clear from the following places: In Micah,

Do not trust in a companion, put no confidence in a leader; from her who is lying in your bosom guard the doors of your mouth. Micah 7:5.

'Her lying in the bosom' stands for one who has been joined to another through love. So it is also that a wife is called the wife of her husband's bosom, Deuteronomy 28:54; 2 Samuel 12:8, and a husband is called the husband of his wife's bosom, Deuteronomy 28:56; and this is because one belongs to the other. In David,

My prayer falls back onto my bosom. Psalms 35:13.

This stands for its return to himself. In the same author,

Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants - [how] I bear in my bosom all the great peoples. Psalms 89:50.

This stands for what is present with himself, as that which is his own. In Isaiah,

He pastures His flock like a shepherd, He gathers the lambs into His arm, and He carries them in His bosom. Isaiah 40:11.

Here the meaning is similar.

[3] In Luke,

Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be given into your bosom. Luke 6:38.

'Being given into the bosom' stands for imparting them as their own. In the same gospel,

After that it happened that Lazarus died and was taken away by the angels into Abraham's bosom. Luke 16:22.

'Being taken away into Abraham's bosom' stands for being taken to the Lord - whom 'Abraham' is used to mean - by virtue of being joined to Him through love.

[4] In John,

There was reclining on Jesus' bosom one of the disciples, whom Jesus loved. Falling towards Jesus' breast he said to Him, Lord, who is it? John 13:23, 25.

'Reclining on the bosom' plainly stands for being loved and being joined through love. In the same gospel,

Nobody has ever seen God; the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, He has made Him known. John 1:18.

'In the bosom of the Father' stands for being one.

[5] 'The bosom' stands for that which is a person's true self, and for making something one's own but not through love, in the following places: In Isaiah,

I will repay, I will repay into their bosom your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together. I will measure the value of their work first into their bosom. Isaiah 65:6-7.

In Jeremiah,

Jehovah shows mercy to thousands and He repays the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their sons after them. Jeremiah 31:18.

In David,

Repay our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom, their reproach to which they have subjected You, O Lord. Psalms 79:12.

'Repaying into their bosom' stands for imparting to their true selves.

1 Moses answered, "But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, 'Yahweh has not appeared to you.'"

2 Yahweh said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod."

3 He said, "Throw it on the ground." He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.

4 Yahweh said to Moses, "Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail." He Put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

5 "That they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you."

6 Yahweh said furthermore to him, "Now put your hand inside your cloak." He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7 He said, "Put your hand inside your cloak again." He Put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

8 "It will happen, if they will neither believe you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

9 It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land."

10 Moses said to Yahweh, "O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."

11 Yahweh said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, Yahweh?

12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak."

13 He said, "Oh, Lord, please send someone else."

14 The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Moses, and he said, "What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes forth to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15 You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16 He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

17 You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs."

18 Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, "Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive." Jethro said to Moses, "go in peace."

19 Yahweh said to Moses in Midian, "Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead."

20 Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God's rod in his hand.

21 Yahweh said to Moses, "When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

22 You shall tell Pharaoh, 'Thus says Yahweh, Israel is my son, my firstborn,

23 and I have said to you, "Let my son go, that he may serve me;" and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'"

24 It happened on the way at a lodging place, that Yahweh met Moses and wanted to kill him.

25 Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me."

26 So he let him alone. Then she said, "You are a bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.

27 Yahweh said to Aaron, "Go into the wilderness to meet Moses." He went, and met him on God's mountain, and kissed him.

28 Moses told Aaron all the words of Yahweh with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.

29 Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

30 Aaron spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31 The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
