See the face of God and the lamb

In Revelation 22, 'seeing the face of God and of the Lamb,' or the Lord, does not mean literally seeing His face, because no one can see His face in His divine love and His divine wisdom, and live, because He is the sun of heaven and the whole spiritual world. To see his face, as He is in Himself would be like if someone entered into the sun and was consumed by the fire. Nevertheless, the Lord sometimes presents Himself to be seen outside of His sun, but then He veils Himself, and presents Himself to their sight. This is done by means of an angel, as He also did in the world for Abraham, Hagar, Lot, Gideon, Joshua, and others. For this reason, those angels were called angels and Jehovah because the presence of Jehovah was remotely in them. But 'seeing His face' here, does not mean seeing His face, but seeing the truths which are in the Word from Him, and through these truths, knowing and acknowledging Him. The divine truths of the Word make the light which proceeds from the Lord as a sun, where the angels are. To the extent that they give off light, they are like glasses where the Lord's face is seen.
