23. Amen, signifie confirmation Divine d'après la Vérité, ainsi d'après Lui-Même. Amen signifie la vérité ; et comme le Seigneur était la Vérité même, c'est pour cela qu'il a dit tant de fois : Amen, je vous dis, comme dans Matthieu 5:18, 26 ; 6:16 ; 10:23, 42 ; 17:20 ; 18:13, 18 ; 25:12 ; 28:20 ; Jean 3:11 ; 5:19, 24-25 ; 6:26, 32, 47, 53 ; 8:34, 51, 58 ; 10:7, 24 ; 13:16, 20, 2l. 21:18, 25 ; et ci-après dans l'Apocalypse :

— « Il dit ces choses, l'Amen, le Témoin fidèle et véritable. » — Apocalypse 3:14,

— c'est-à-dire, le Seigneur. Que le Seigneur soit la Vérité même, il l'enseigne Lui-Même dans Jean 14:6 ; 17:19.

Generally in the Bible a "country" means a political subdivision ruled by a king, or sometimes a tribe with a territory ruled by a king or chieftain. Others are what we now call city-states, with surrounding farm areas. In almost all cases these countries were far smaller than our modern idea of countries, though Egypt and Assyria would be exceptions. Sometimes the word is used to refer to countryside, a wide area with no consideration of boundaries as when the twelve Israelites were sent to spy out the country.
