39. II. Le Seigneur est appelé Dieu d'Israël et Dieu de Jacob: on le voit par ces passages: Moïse prit le sang et le répandit sur le peuple; et il dit: Voici le sang de l'alliance qu'a traitée Jéhovah avec vous. Et ils virent le dieu d'Israel, et sous ses pieds comme un ouvrage de pierre de saphir, et comme la substance du Ciel.- Exode 24:8-10.
- « Les foules étaient en admiration en voyant que des muets parlaient, que des boiteux marchaient, et que des aveugles voyaient; et elles glorifiaient le Dieu d'Israel. » - Matthieu 14:31.
- « Béni (soit) le seigneur, le dieu d'Israel, de ce qu'il a visité et racheté son peuple Israël, et de ce qu'il a suscité une corne de salut pour nous dans la maison de David. » - Luc 1:68-69.
- « Je te donnerai les trésors des ténèbres et les richesses sécrètes des lieux cachés, afin que tu connaisses que Moi (je suis) Jéhovah, qui t'ai appelé par ton nom, le dieu d'Israel. » - Esaïe 45:3.
- « La maison de Jacob, ceux qui jurent par le Nom de Jéhovah et du Dieu d'Israël; car ils sont appelés d'après la ville de sainteté et ils s'appuient sur le dieu d'Israel, dont le nom (est) Jéhovah Sébaoth. » - Esaïe 48:1-2.
- « Jacob verra ses enfants; au milieu de lui ils sanctifieront mon Nom, et ils sanctifieront le Saint de Jacob, et ils craindront le dieu d'Israel. » - Esaïe 29:23.
- « Dans la postérité de nos jours, des peuples nombreux iront et diront: Allez et montons à la montagne de Jéhovah, à la maison du dieu de Jacob, qui nous instruira de ses chemins, pour que nous allions dans ses sentiers. » - Esaïe 2:2-3; Michée 4:1-2.
- « Afin que toute chair connaisse que Moi (Je suis) Jéhovah ton Sauveur, et ton Rédempteur, le fort de Jacob. » - Esaïe 49:26.
- « Moi Jéhovah ton Sauveur, et ton Rédempteur, le puissant de Jacob. » - Esaïe 60:16.
- « Par devant le Seigneur tu es en travail d'enfantement, ô Terre! Par devant le dieu de Jacob. » - Psaumes 114:7.
- « David a juré à Jéhovah, il a fait voeu au fort de jacob: Si j'entre dans la tente de ma maison, jusqu'à ce que j'aie trouvé un lieu pour Jéhovah, des habitacles pour le puissant de Jacob; nous avons entendu (parler) de Lui en Ephratah (Bethléhem). » - Psaumes 132:2-3, 5-6.
- « Béni (soit) le dieu d'Israel; toute la terre sera remplie de sa gloire. » - Psaumes 72:18-19.
- Et en outre ailleurs, où le Seigneur est appelé Dieu d'Israël, Rédempteur et Sauveur, comme dans Luc 1:47; Esaïe 45:15, 54:5; Psaumes 78:35; - et dans beaucoup d'autres endroits, où il est seulement appelé Dieu d'Israël, comme dans:

I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.

I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?"

No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.
4
And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it.
5
One of the elders said to me, "Don't weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals."

I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.
8
Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
9
They sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth."
11
I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;
12
saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!"
13
I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!"
14
The four living creatures said, "Amen!" The elders fell down and worshiped.
