A beam signifies the falsity of evil. (Genesis 19:18; 2 Kings 6:2, 5, 6; Habakkuk 2:11; Matthew 7:3-5). A beam of a ship from the Isles of Kitthin (Ezekiel 28:6) signifies the externals of worship and consequently, rituals which respect the class of celestial things.
In Luke 6:41-42, this signifies falsity of evil; for wood signifies good, or, in its opposite sense, evil and its falsity. Beam also signifies the falsity of evil in other passages.
