La guerre dans le monde représente le combat de la tentation lorsque le bien est attaqué par le mal ou le faux. Le mal qui attaque provient d'une des nombreuses sociétés de l'enfer et il opère en suscitant dans notre esprit un amour égoïste qui est contraire à ce que nous savons être juste. Ensuite, notre amour égoïste attaque l'amour qui nourrit le désir d'être une bonne personne et il y a la guerre dans nos esprits. Celle-ci est représentée par les guerres que les enfants d'Israël ont menées dans et autour de la terre de Canaan, dont il existe une longue histoire dans l'ancien testament. Les amours égoïstes abondent dans nos esprits en raison de notre hérédité, et les bons amours viennent longtemps avec notre conscience au fur et à mesure qu'elle se développe. Si nous n'avions pas de conscience, nous ne pourrions pas être tentés, nous suivrions immédiatement les souhaits de notre égoïsme et céderions. Mais le résultat final est que nous sommes en esclavage aux enfers et que nous ferons tout ce qu'ils veulent.

'That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, that is, Zoar' means just so many kinds of evil desires and false persuasions against which the Lord fought.
