451. Verses 9, 10. After these things I saw, and behold a great multitude which no one could number, out of every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palms in their hands. And crying out with a great voice, saying, Salvation unto our God who sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

9 (Revelation 7:9). "After these things I saw, and behold a great multitude," signifies all those who are in the good of life according to their religion, in which there are no genuine truths (n. 452); "which no one could number," signifies that the Lord alone knows of what kind and how much of good and truth there is in them n. 453; "out of every nation and all tribes," signifies all who are in good in respect to life according to the doctrinals of their religion (n. 454); "and peoples and tongues," signifies all who are in falsities from ignorance and from various religions n. 455; "standing before the throne and before the Lamb," signifies such in the Lord's kingdom (n. 456); "clothed in white robes," signifies that they are then in truths and protected against falsities (n. 457); "and palms in their hands," signifies and in good of life according to truths n. 458.

10 (Revelation 7:10). "And crying out with a great voice," signifies adoration from the good of truth and from consequent joy of heart (n. 459); "saying, Salvation unto our God who sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb," signifies confession that eternal life is from the Lord alone n. 460.
