That this signifies or if he shall injure the affection of truth therein, is evident from the signification of “the eye,” as being the intellectual, and consequently the truth of faith (as just above, n. 9058); and from the signification of a “maidservant,” as being the affection of natural truth (n. 2567, 3835, 3849, 8993).
