In Revelation 6:15, the powerful - also sometimes translated as strong, mighty, or potent - refer to the truths which make up our external minds. They are paired with the commanders of thousands, which are the related good external or natural loves that we have. Note, too, that they are listed after the kings, the great ones, and the rich, which here stand for more interior goods and truths.
