873. Verse 7 (Revelation 14:7). Saying with a great voice, signifies exhortation. This is evident from the signification of "a great voice," as being exhortation, since it involves what follows, where it is said that "they should fear God and give glory to Him." The word "voice" is frequently used in the Word, also "a great voice;" and when it is a voice from the Lord or from His angels it signifies Divine truth in general, and everything that proceeds from the Lord, consequently commandment and precept, thus also exhortation, and other things (See above, n. 261, 302, 424, 668, 682); for a voice from the angels is not a voice from them but through them from the Lord.
