Bosom

"Mother Nursing her Child by the Fireplace" by Albert Neuhuys

The bosom represents the loves we truly hold as our own – the things that define us and make us unique. One of the best illustrations of this is when the Bible calls a man's wife "the wife of his bosom" or a woman's husband "the husband of her bosom" (Deuteronomy 28:54, 56). This means they truly belong to each other at heart and that the spiritual elements they represent are intrinsic to each other's identities. "Bosom" in general terms means the chest, but more as the seat of the emotions than simply as part of the body.
