Vials

In 1 Samuel 10:1, a flask or vial signifies inaugurating for the purpose of establishing a representative of the Lord as to the good of love. (Arcana Coelestia 9954)

In Revelation 5:8, it signifies the same as the incense they contain: acknowledgment of the Lord's Divine Human from spiritual goods, and worship therefrom. (Apocalypse Revealed 277)

In Revelation 15:7, it signifies the influx of good and truth as in the literal sense of the Word into the church to expose its evils and falsities. (Apocalypse Revealed 672)

In Revelation 21:9, this signifies the Lord inflowing and speaking through the inmost heaven concerning the Roman Catholic persuasion. (Apocalypse Revealed 895)

In Revelation 14, 'the seven vials' have the same significance as the seven plagues, because they are containing vessels. Anything containing something, in the Word, signifies whatever is contained. So a 'cup' has the same significance as 'wine,' similarly with 'platter' and 'meat.' 'Vials' were given to them, because this chapter is about the influx of truth and good into the church to discover the evils and falsities. Naked goods and truths cannot enter by influx, because they are not received. Only clothed truths can enter, as in the literal sense of the Word. The Lord always operates from inmost principles through extremes, or in fulness. This is why the angels were given vials, which signify containing truths and goods, like the literal sense of the Word. These discover falsities and evils. 'Vials,' 'platters,' 'cups,' 'chalices,' and 'bottles' signify the things contained in them, as seen in many passages. 'Vials,' 'bottles,' and 'pitchers,' have the same significance as 'cup,' as seen in Matthew 9:17, Luke 5:37-38, Jeremiah 8:12, 48:12, Habakkuk 2:15, 5. 'Censers' containing incense signify the same thing as 'incense,' like all kinds of vessels.
