Every man is become brutish, so as to have no knowledge; every founder is put to shame by the graven image, for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

23. Amen. This symbolizes a Divine confirmation springing from truth, thus from Himself.
"Amen" signifies truth, and because the Lord was the very embodiment of truth, therefore He so often said, "Assuredly, I say to you," 1 as in Matthew 5:18, 26; 6:16; 10:23, 42; 17:20; 18:13, 18; 25:12, cf. 28:20; John 3:11; 5:19, 24-25; 6:26, 32, 47, 53; 8:34, 51, 58; 10:7; 12:24; 13:16, 20-21, cf. 21:18, 25; and in the following passage in the book of Revelation, "These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness" (Revelation 3:14), which is to say, the Lord.
That the Lord is the very embodiment of truth, He Himself teaches in John 14:6; 17:19.
