Zilpah

Zilpah is the servant-girl of Leah, Jacob's first wife. After Leah is no longer able to bear children, she gives Zilpah to Jacob as a concubine. Zilpah is mentioned in Genesis 29:24, and in Genesis 30:9, and elsewhere. She symbolizes an affirmative means through which [the external man and the internal] could be joined together. See Arcana Coelestia 3931, 3835, 4609.
