Ve většině případů je význam slova „dříve“ docela přímočarý, a to jak jako způsob stanovení relativního času, tak ve smyslu použití „v něčí přítomnosti“. Při použití ve spojení s Pánem však nabývá na hlubším významu. Být „dříve“ znamená nejen ve své přítomnosti, ale také od Něho přijímat touhu po dobru a pochopení pravdy a podle nich žít. A když se používá jako hodnocení času ve spojení s Pánem, „před“ znamená „z věčnosti“ a vztahuje se spíše na duchovní stav než na čas, jak jej prožíváme.

This is clear from the meaning of 'from now' - that is, from today - as what is eternal or lasts forever, dealt with in 2838, 3998, 4304, 6165, so that it means into eternity since subsequent time is implied; from the meaning of 'speaking' as influx, dealt with in 2951, 5481, 5743, 5797, an influx from the Divine being meant by 'as You (Jehovah) speak'; and from the meaning of 'servant' as the Lord's Human when it had not yet been made Divine, dealt with in 2159 (but because when it had been made Divine it was one with Jehovah, it was then the Lord and Master).
