That this signifies thus purified from evils and falsities, is evident from the signification of “sin,” when by it is meant sacrifice, as being purification from evils and falsities; for in the original tongue by “sin,” where sacrifices are treated of, is meant sacrifice for sin, and by “sacrifice” is signified purification from evils and falsities (n. 9990, 9991).
