When the Bible talks about borrowing, owing and debts, it is talking about getting thoughts and ideas from others. If we can attach good desires to them – if we can use them to help us be good, that is – we can repay our debts and benefit. If we don’t attach any good desire to them, they end up confusing us and serving as vehicles for evil.
