¹ 成群的民（原文是女子）哪，现在你要聚集成队；因为仇敌围攻我们，要用杖击打以色列审判者的脸。

² 伯利恒、以法他啊，你在犹大诸城中为小，将来必有一位从你那里出来，在以色列中为我作掌权的；他的根源从亘古，从太初就有。

³ 耶和华必将以色列人交付敌人，直等那生产的妇人生下子来。那时掌权者（原文是他）其馀的弟兄必归到以色列人那里。

⁴ 他必起来，倚靠耶和华的大能，并耶和华─他神之名的威严，牧养他的羊群。他们要安然居住；因为他必日见尊大，直到地极。

⁵ 这位必作我们的平安。当亚述人进入我们的地境，践踏宫殿的时候，我们就立起七个牧者，八个首领攻击他。

⁶ 他们必用刀剑毁坏亚述地和宁录地的关口。亚述人进入我们的地境践踏的时候，他必拯救我们。

⁷ 雅各馀剩的人必在多国的民中，如从耶和华那里降下的露水，又如甘霖降在草上；不仗赖人力，也不等候世人之功。

⁸ 雅各馀剩的人必在多国多民中，如林间百兽中的狮子，又如少壮狮子在羊群中。他若经过就必践踏撕裂，无人搭救。

⁹ 愿你的手举起，高过敌人！愿你的仇敌都被剪除！

¹⁰ 耶和华说：到那日，我必从你中间剪除马匹，毁坏车辆，

¹¹ 也必从你国中除灭城邑，拆毁一切的保障，

¹² 又必除掉你手中的邪术；你那里也不再有占卜的。

¹³ 我必从你中间除灭雕刻的偶像和柱像，你就不再跪拜自己手所造的。

¹⁴ 我必从你中间拔出木偶，又毁灭你的城邑。

¹⁵ 我也必在怒气和忿怒中向那不听从的列国施报。

¹ Listen now to what Yahweh says: "Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.

² Hear, you mountains, Yahweh's controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

³ My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me!

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

⁵ My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of Yahweh."

⁶ How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

⁷ Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁸ He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

⁹ Yahweh's voice calls to the city, and wisdom sees your name: "Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.

¹⁰ Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah that is accursed?

¹¹ Shall I be pure with dishonest scales, and with a bag of deceitful weights?

¹² Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.

¹³ Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins.

¹⁴ You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your humiliation will be in your midst. You will store up, but not save; and that which you save I will give up to the sword.

¹⁵ You will sow, but won't reap. You will tread the olives, but won't anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won't drink the wine.

¹⁶ For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab. You walk in their counsels, that I may make you a ruin, and her inhabitants a hissing; And you will bear the reproach of my people."
