That this signifies the penalty of destroyed truth and good in the natural, is evident from the signification of “being stoned,” as being the penalty for the destroyed truth and good of faith (see n. 5156, 7456, 8575, 8799). That it signifies in the natural, is because the ox, by which is signified the affection of evil in the natural, which was destructive, was to be stoned.
