All numbers in the Word signify things or states, according to the relationship they have to other numbers. When two multiples of a number with the same signification are mentioned together, one higher and the other lower, such as 10 and 100, or 100 and 1000, then the lower number relates to goods, and the higher relates to truths.

A 'thousand' means much, many, a countless number, a whole era of time, an abundance. When used in reference to the Lord, it actually means a number greater than that: In those cases it means what is infinite, what is truly without end.
