Enoch
Enoch (Genesis 5:18) represents the seventh church from Adam, and which consisted of people who had framed doctrines out of the things which had been objects of perception in the most ancient and the following churches, with design that such doctrine should serve as a rule whereby to know what was good and true; which is signified by these words: ver. 22, "Enoch walked with God." And by the translation of Enoch, in verse 24, is signified that as such doctrine at that time was not allowable, it was preserved for the use of posterity.
