In Genesis 24:49, 48:13-14, this signifies reciprocal freedom, or power to choose. (Arcana Coelestia 3159) This also signifies truth of the intellectual in the second place, and the good of the voluntary first; but this was later reversed, for Israel regarded truth in the first place.
