29 In his days Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went against him; and [Pharaoh Necoh] killed him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.

Verse 29. Notwithstanding, however, the depraved natural man rises up against the enlightened rational faculty of the man of the New Church, and is opposed by the faith and life of that Church; and, when the natural man prevails, the church is vastated by falsity from evil in the extremes.
