12 ถ้าพี่น้องของท่านซึ่งเป็นคนฮีบรูไม่ว่าชายหรือหญิง ที่เขาขายไว้แก่ท่าน จงให้ปรนนิบัติท่านหกปี เมื่อถึงปีที่เจ็ดก็ให้ปล่อยเขาเป็นอิสระพ้นไปจากท่าน

Verse 12. If some good and useful principle, either of truth or in the affections of the external man, derived from inferior motives such as the hope of reward in the next life, has been made use of by the spiritual man, and been serviceable to him during the first stages of regeneration; when the soul has been brought to a state of celestial love, principles from such motives will no longer influence the mind.
