22 καὶ εἶπεν οὐ πατάξεις εἰ μὴ οὓς ᾐχμαλώτευσας ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ σου καὶ τόξῳ σου σὺ τύπτεις παράθες ἄρτους καὶ ὕδωρ ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν καὶ φαγέτωσαν καὶ πιέτωσαν καὶ ἀπελθέτωσαν πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτῶν

Verse 22. Whereas this is contrary to Divine Truth; for even the corrupted man represses his lower passions by means of natural truths and the force of reason, when it suits him; nor does he destroy them. And hence Divine Truth further teaches, that the natural powers are to be nourished with good and truth in order that they may be serviceable to the higher life.
