3 Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit : adhuc enim populus immolabat, et adolebat in excelsis incensum.

Verse 3. Nevertheless the imperfect affections of the natural man remain, and man is devoted to those affections so that his worship of the Lord is not wholly pure.
